Expectations for the LA Program

Before I started working as a language assistant, I was very excited to be returning to Spain and to be teaching English and American culture. I heard about this program from a lot from friends that have previously done it, and there are actually 7 other girls I know that are teaching in Spain from the University of Kentucky/Lexington. So, this program is very popular where I am from.

I was already a member of a lot of the auxiliar Facebook groups and that was where I learned even more about the program. I read a lot about other people’s experiences and learned that everyone’s experience is different and everyone’s school is different.

I was planning to bring a lot of the Breakthrough techniques and knowledge I learned with me to Spain. This has helped me a lot with managing the classroom. My favorite thing I do with my classes is present about American culture such as the school system, prom, or about my state. I love when my students are very curious and ask me a lot of questions. I feel very lucky that my coordinator is awesome and so are all the teachers I work with! I really like my school.
